Days Between is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no cookies, no adverts and no cross-site tracking, and the dates you pick stay on your own device. Visitor stats come from privacy-friendly analytics, explained below.

How the calculator works

Everything runs in your browser. When you pick two dates, the arithmetic happens on your own device and the answer is drawn on the page. The dates you pick are not sent anywhere — the site is a few static files, with no server working anything out.

What the page loads

The page, one stylesheet, one script and one typeface, all from this domain, plus the analytics script described below, which is also served from here and sends its reports to PostHog. The typeface is served from here rather than from a font service on purpose: loading it from elsewhere would hand your IP address to that company every time you opened the page.

Analytics

The site uses PostHog, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It runs in cookieless mode: it does not use cookies, does not store anything in your browser, and does not track you across websites.

It records page views, the page address with any dates removed, the site that linked to it, and your browser and device type. Nothing you do inside the calculator is recorded, and the dates you pick are never included. To count unique visitors without cookies, PostHog turns your IP address and browser details, together with a random value that changes every day, into a one-way code; the IP address itself is not kept. The legal basis for this is legitimate interests: the figures are used only to understand how the site is used and to keep it working well, never to profile or contact anyone.

If you would rather not be counted, a content blocker or privacy extension in your browser will stop the analytics script. The calculator works exactly the same without it.

Cookies and storage

None. Neither the site nor its analytics sets cookies or writes anything to your browser's storage. Closing the tab leaves nothing behind, which is also why it does not remember your last two dates.

What the host can see

Opening any website means your browser connects to whichever server holds it. Days Between is hosted by Cloudflare, which may keep ordinary request logs — IP address, time, page requested, browser version — for security and to keep the service running. Those logs are covered by Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The only thing Waqar Bin Kalim adds on top of them is the privacy-friendly analytics above.

Your rights

Waqar Bin Kalim only ever sees anonymous totals, which cannot be traced back to you, so there is nothing personal to request a copy of, correct, or ask to have deleted. If you have a question anyway, write to support@waqarbinkalim.com.

Changes

If this ever changes — if more analytics, embedded content or any other third-party service is added — this page will say so and the date at the top will change.
